The Duncan Guy Band was formed in 1995. Duncan McLeod and Guy Waite started writing Funtry music during their high school years in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Of course they didn't know it was Funtry then. Friends in Nashville challenged them to write a whole album on the topic of Menstruation. They took up the challenge, formed the Duncan Guy Band, and the result was the "Menstral Album" (they thought it was nice that we took the YOU out of Menstrual).
They completed their second album "Lesbian Karaoke Night" in 2007 and the band has been back in the studio working on their next project which is to be released in February 2010.

Duncan McLeod
Duncan and Guy started writing crazy music as high school classmates in the mid-sixties. Rock and Roll was thriving and they were listening to Johnny Cash, Buck Owens and Wilf Carter. Wilf who? Influenced by artists like Frank Zappa, they formed Xavier Lipschitz and the Ruptured Highland Hawaiians to showcase their music. They reunited in the nineties to form the Duncan Guy Band and produce "The Menstral Album". The rest is history

Kathryn Church
Believe it or not, we met Kathryn through the internet in 2005. We were amazed that a lady as talented as Kathryn could sing our material and keep a straight face, well almost. Kathryn wrote "Moment of Silence" and you might hear a bit of Alanis Morrissette when she belts out "Just shut your mouth...". It is rumoured that she might be afraid to write incriminating material that could come back to haunt her and so prefers to sing only!

Bruce Wilson
In high school with Guy and Duncan, Bruce took off early to pursue his musical career. As a member of the Brass Union, he toured throughout Ontario and Quebec in the 1970's. Bruce met Guy and Duncan a couple of years ago at a friend's birthday party, heard the "Menstral Album", and just had to become part of the band. He had a nice guitar so we let him join. We didn't expect him to come up with a couple of smash songs like "Great Big Hole" and "Her Side of the Story".

Kathleen "The Kid" McLeod
Alun Piggins nic named her the kid and she is really Duncan's kid. Go figure. A bass player since the day she was born she never developed an interest in playing guitar. Why strum muddy cords when you can get clean notes out of a bass!

Ian Gelb
Not much to say other than Ian is great and immediately fit right in. We all might have quirks. Can you believe he likes to photograph cats? Even ones that aren't his. Regardless of it that is truly weird or not, with regards to drumming you'd think he was a pro. He might have had the chance to play with some of the more well known artists out there but we do try to keep some things private. You can find his picture on our photos page, dig deep, about number 38 or 39 with Alun Piggins.
We used Virty for a short period of time and you know how that goes - time to hit the road baby. Virty got auctioned off for dates at the last show. She will be available for use in the New Year.

Jeff Ferraro
How could we have done it without Jeff the Pro Tools Wizard. We have a full-blown Pro Tools HD set up in the Kewler Studio but most of the band members don't even know how to push the "Record" button on a four-track.
Ken Dafoe
Ken and Duncan have been friends for years. A creative writer for radio and magazine, Ken has his hands full bringing up six kids. Fortunately he was able to allocate some time to the Lesbian Karaoke Night project.
Robert MacDonald Jr
Nothin' says lovin' like lovin' your cousin.
Bob is Duncan's cousin. The founder of Video Music International (VMI) and a resident of Tennessee, Bob has had the priviledge of working with many of country music's greats including Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Garry Morris, Kenny Rogers, Grant Boatwright, Marshall Law, and the list goes on.
